POLICIES, PROCEDURES, & GUIDELINES:

Prior to participating, participants should review the SCGA’s Policies & Procedures.

 

STRACKALINE YARDAGE BOOK:

The SCGA and StrackaLine have teamed up to allow our participants the availability to purchase StrackaLine Yardage & Green booklets at a discounted price. Click HERE to purchase your StrackaLine Booklet. All booklets conform to the Rules of Golf and may be used in tournament play.

 

FORMAT:

  • All players on sides will participate in a 36-hole four-ball stroke-play championship (18 holes each day).
  • 52 sides will compete in this championship.
  • Awards will be given to those who finish in 1st through 5th place. In the event of a tie for first place, there will be a hole-by-hole playoff immediately following the conclusion of regular play.

 

EXEMPTIONS AWARDED:

Champions receive the following:

  • Exempt into current year SCGA Senior Amateur, SCGA Senior Match Play & SCGA Four-Ball Championship.

 

REGISTRATION:

All participants are required to check-in with the SCGA upon arriving on Monday morning. A table will be located at the top entrance past the parking lot, before you head down the hill towards the practice area.

 

PRACTICE ROUNDS:

  • Players may plan for practice rounds at their own expense. To book a practice round, contact the Golf Shop at (661) 288-1995.
  • The Oaks Club at Valencia is providing a discounted rate of $50 (cart included), based on availability with their member play. Please identify yourself as a SCGA Senior Four-Ball Championship participant when booking.
  • Practice rounds are a privilege, not a right. The SCGA works with a variety of facilities throughout the course of the year, all of which have unique policies and procedures when it comes to practice rounds. These opportunities will be provided at the sole discretion of the host facility.
  • We are guests and must follow all facility policies and guidelines when on property. Behavior during practice rounds will be subject to the SCGA Code of Conduct.

 

STARTING TIMES AND PAIRINGS: 

  • Starting times and pairings will be e-mailed to players and posted online at scga.org one week in advance of the championship.
  • Starting times will range from 7:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m., utilizing a #1 and #10 tee start.
  • Lead groups should plan to be at their assigned tee 10 minutes in advance of their starting time. Subsequent groups are encouraged to arrive once the preceding group has teed off. Players arriving late will be penalized under Rule 5.3a of the Rules of Golf. For example, the 9:00 a.m. starting time is defined as 9:00:00, and players arriving after that time are considered late.

 

TEES & YARDAGE:   

All yardages and course information can be found in the Yardage Information tab located on the Championship Portal.

 

DRIVING RANGE:

  • The driving range will be available by 6:30 a.m. on each morning of the championship. 
  • Range balls will be provided and staged on the range, compliments of The Oaks Club at Valencia and the SCGA.

 

FOOD SERVICE & PURCHASES:

  • The Midway Grill and Snack bar will be open at 7 a.m. each day.
  • All participants will receive lunch after their round on Monday, April 14.
  • Cash and all major credit cards will be the only form of payment accepted for purchases.

 

RULES OF PLAY:

 

GOLF CARTS, PULL/PUSH CARTS:

  • Golf carts are included with the entry fee; however, players who are able and willing to walk may do so.
  • There will be a maximum of two carts per group and two bags per cart. Players wishing to ride will be expected to share a cart with another player.
  • Each player is entitled to one seat in a cart. If a player brings a caddie, the caddie may ride provided there is a vacant seat in one of the carts. Otherwise, either the player or the caddie must walk.
  • Drivers must be at least 16 years of age (or older if club policy dictates).
  • Pull or push carts are permitted.

 

CADDIES & SPECTATORS:

  • Players may provide their own caddie (see the section on golf carts).
  • Spectators are permitted but are not allowed in carts. Spectators must adhere to all policies set forth by the facility.

 

DRESS CODE:

Appropriate golf attire must be worn, including adhering to any facility-specific policies.

 

CANCELATIONS & REFUNDS:

  • To withdraw for any reason prior to the start of an SCGA competition, a player must notify the SCGA Championships & Golf Operations Department at champs@scga.org.
  • Failure to notify the SCGA will subject the player to suspension from future SCGA competitions.
    • Refund Policy:
      • Cancelation prior to the entry closing date: Full refund less a $20 administrative fee.
      • Cancelation after the entry closing date and more than 48 hours prior to the start of the competition: 50% of the entry fee.
      • Cancelation within 48 hours of the start of the competition: No refund.
